Extensions allow admins to manage internal phone lines used across the organization. Each extension represents a unique internal number that connects users, departments, or locations. It facilitates internal communication and efficient call routing.

Create an Extension
1. Navigate to Configuration > Calls > Extensions.
2. Click Create Extension.
3. Enter the following details.
Items marked in asterisk (*) are mandatory.
| Field | Description |
| Extension Type* | Select the type of extension such as Agent, Device, External Number, Call Queue, or Phone Tree. |
| Extension Number | Enter a unique internal number for the extension. You can enter up to 5 digits. The system validates the number to prevent duplicates. |
| Extension Name* | Enter a descriptive name for identification. |
| Location* | Select the office or site location. |
| Ring Groups | Add one or more Ring Groups for shared call handling. |
| SVM | Assign shared voicemail groups, if needed. |
| Allow Extension Takeover | Enable this option to temporarily log into an existing extension from another authorized device. When enabled, agents can retain their phone number, call settings, and voicemail access while switching workstations. |

4. Click Create.
Update an Extension
1. Locate the extension and click Configure.
2. Modify fields such as Extension Name, Location, Ring Group, and SVM.

3. Click Update.
Deactivate an Extension
1. Locate the intended extension and click Deactivate.
2. Click Deactivate in the confirmation dialog box.
